Hey hey! So I mentioned that I lost weight over the course of the last six years, so here's my story:

In 2019, I was at my heaviest weight, which was 242.5 pounds. I had lost weight in the past prior to that moment, but regained. At that time, I had joined the gym and wanted to document my journey. I started going to the gym as well as become more aware of my diet, until early 2020. This was when the pandemic started, and because COVID-19 was such an unpredictable virus, I cancelled my gym membership. By that time I had lost 20 pounds, and decided to maintain that weight loss while the pandemic began. I did a good job in maintaining my weight to where I reached a point where I wanted to work toward losing weight again. I did this twice and lost 20 pounds each time.

Something that I made sure not to do is constantly weight myself. I let my clothes do the talking, as well as coworkers noticing that I lost weight. I had said to God that my ideal weight that I wanted to be was between 170-180 pounds, which I felt was a good number for my height and would make me feel good overall. The lowest that I have ever been was between 140-148 and that was the worst that I had ever looked or felt. I try to keep in mind that I was in my early 20s when I was that size and thought I looked good, but with my body type I didn't look healthy.

Currently, I reached my goal weight of the 170s, reaching 174 pounds. Overall, I feel much better than I was at my heavier weight. For example, my knees do not hurt as much when I bend them, which was a huge problem for work stocking items on bottom shelves.

The main method that I did to lose weight was doing Intermittent Fasting (IF), specifically the 16:8 Method, where I eat within an 8-hour period and fast the remaining 16 hours of the day. I mainly did this method on the days that I work, so from 4am-1pm I eat within that time, and fast (except for drinks) the remaining time. I did not do IF on the weekends. I will share more about Intermittent Fasting on another post, as there are different types that can be done.

As with any weight loss journey, you have to make it your own journey. For me, I made sure not to constantly weigh myself because for some people, constantly weighing yourself can make you not want to eat or avoid food altogether, which can create a bigger issue.
